Getting Ready for Summer

Summer tends to be a slow time for network marketing and if you don't do something about it, your volumes and income will likely drop over the next 3 months. However, summer can also be a great time to build a business. There are going to be all kinds of gatherings - graduation parties, 4th of July, Labor Day, picnics, and more. You are going to be thrown together with groups of people throughout the summer and if you are prepared, you can utilize those gatherings to expand your business. Here are some tips for doing exactly that:

1. Carry samples and marketing tools in your car at all times - you never know when you'll run into an excellent prospect.

2. Ask questions - ask about people. They love to talk about themselves, so ask about their family, job, hobbies, activities, upcoming vacations, etc. As you gather information, look for areas where your business could help them - not enough money for vacation; would love to play golf more, but not enough time; may lose job due to downturn in economy; working too many hours, etc. Once you have 2 or 3 pain areas, you can present your business as a possible option.

3. Summer letter - most people send out a Christmas letter, but you could send out a summer letter, talking about all that is going on with you and your family, including your business.

4. Kids - the kids are going to be going to summer camps, playing sports, or you'll be with them at the playground, pool, or beach. Talk to the other parents (see #2 for questions) and you'll be amazed at how many quality prospects your find.

Summer is a great time to build your business and what you build during the next three months will vault you into one of the best times to build a business, the fall.
