Review: Prosperity Central


One of the biggest issues for every person involved in MLM / Network Marketing is lead generation and list building. The typical company offers a simple replicated web site that is completely ineffective for internet marketing. What networkers really need is a powerful online marketing system and that's exactly what you will find with Prosperity Central.

I have been marketing MLM businesses on the internet since 1995 and so I've learned what to look for in an online marketing system. After reviewing twenty different systems, I chose Prosperity Central to use in my own business and to promote to both my downline and other friends in the profession. Information captured on these pages is then funneled into a full function contact manager and autoresponder system. More on both of these later. Plus, you can set the system to email you when a prospect submits their information, so you can respond immediately. People are always very impressed when I call while they are looking at my page.

Personal Website - Once your prospect completes the capture page form, they are immediately sent to your personalized and customizable P.C. website that offers 2 steps - 1) An inspiring video about network marketing; 2) A link to your company page. There are also three other spots they can click - Our System, which explains the P.C. online marketing system; Our Industry - which offers a video about the MLM industry; About Me - a custom area where you can tell your story in a way that would encourage them to join you. You can also upload a picture and contact information, so they can see and easily contact you.

Autoresponders - Upon submitting their information, on your capture page, your prospects will then begin receiving very professionally written autoresponders. Every system I've used in the past, I always wrote my own messages, but these are so well written, I'm using them as is. If you would prefer to write your own, the system will allow it. The really cool part is that each autoresponder gives them a link back to your site and sends you an email every time they go back. This helps you quickly recognize those who are serious from the lookie loos.

Contact Manager - In the advanced versions there is a full function database that enables you to keep track of your prospects, so none of them fall through the cracks. It also has trackable technology, so you can see which autoresponder emails they've responded to, which videos they've watched, and what pages they've looked at, and it rates them. Again, this will help you quickly identify your more qualified candidates.

Warm Market Wizard - This is one of my favorite features, as you can enter your warm market contacts into the wizard and it will begin sending them autoresponder emails. I've been in the MLM profession for over 30 years and have contacted my warm market a lot. This Warm Market Wizard has gotten better response than anything I've ever done with my friends and family and I didn't even have to call or go see them, until I knew they were interested.

Flyer Generator - Many networkers like to have professional flyers to hand out and the P.C. system enables you to quickly create customized flyers and then print them on your home printer. There are 8 choices. I love this feature, because it would cost $500 to $1000 to have a graphic designer create flyers of this quality and it's included in all the systems (yes, even the free version).

Banners - All three versions of P.C. have some very professional looking banners that you will be proud to have on your web site or offer to other site owners. These banners are already linked to the capture page you select in your P.C. back office.

Toll-Free Voice Mail - All three versions of P.C. offer a toll-free voice mail number. You can use a standard message or record your own. This is a tremendous tool for those who are marketing throughout the U.S. You can either use it as your business number or record a great prospecting message and promote the number through your flyers and other forms of online or offline marketing and advertising.

The following features are only available on the two advanced versions of Prosperity Central:

Trackable Biz Opp Call -This is a trackable call available every hour. You can use a very professional pre-recorded generic call (which is what I'm doing) or you can record your own. The cool part is that your autoresponder emails will promote the call and when a prospect listens you get notification.

Email Broadcasting - This is a great way to build your prospect list and send out customized email blasts to all of them at the same time. Feed Me

Quite often, when I'm coaching network marketers, I'm reminded of the old movie, Little Shop of Horrors, when the giant plant says "feed me Seymour". The truth is that, as an adult networker, you need to learn to feed yourself and do so in three areas:

1. Feed Your Body - if you fill your body full of junk food, soda, and alcohol, it won't function well and you will experience great difficulty building your business. Your body is like a car. If you put good gasoline in, you will get good performance. If on the other hand you put water with a bunch of dirt into your gas tank, your car is going to break down. So, if you want to have the energy and stamina to build a successful business, fill your body with nutritious foods - low fat and organic proteins such as chicken, turkey, fish, and vegetable proteins from beans, asparugus, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and artichokes; organic green leafy vegetables that will help lower the acidity in your body and provide excellent natural nutrients; lower sugar, nutrient-rich organic fruits such as berries, guava, kiwi, canteloupe, papaya, and cherries. Stay away from the breads, pastas, sugars and artificial sweeteners, and the pre-packaged foods. Give your body high quality fuel and your body will respond, when you need those extra hours to make that big run to the next rank.

2. Feed Your Mind - our minds are constantly bombarded by negative information, so if you're serious about building a solid, long-term network marketing business, turn off the TV, stop listening to talk radio, cancel your newspaper subscription, and think about what you are allowing into your mind. Your mind works like a computer - GIGO - garbage in, garbage out. What you allow into your mind, you will then think about and what you think about will eventually come out of your mouth and show up in your actions. Allow negative in and you will start speaking negatively about your company, founders, products/services, upline, cross-line, and even the whole profession. After you run out of people to blame, you will start speaking negatively about yourself and your business is toast. So, feed your mind with positive information. Subscribe to Success Magazine and read it cover to cover every month. You also get a free CD each month; listen to it over and over during the month. Ask your sponsor or upline leaders what they recommend in the way of CDs, DVDs, books, and online training courses. Fill your mind with positive information and that's what will come out of your mouth and show up in your action and you will have what it takes to build a big business.

3. Feed Your Spirit - We are all spiritual beings on a natural path for a limited amount of time. It's important to feed our bodies and minds, but possibly even more important to feed our spirits. I do this through quiet time every morning, where I read the Bible and talk with God. I highly recommend this, as it starts my day on a positive note and most days I get directions for what to do that day. Prayer, meditation, and quiet time to rest your mind and body are critical to your success in business. If you go, go, go every day and never rest, you will break down. Even with all the good food and information, if you aren't feeding your spirit, all things will come to a halt. So, feed your spirit every day and you will have clarity in building your business (and living your life).

There you go. Quit expecting other people to feed you and start feeding yourself. Feed your body, mind, and spirit, and then turn that into positive action and you will be amazed at how quickly you can build a successful network marketing business.

5 Tips for MLM or Network Marketing Success

Over the three plus decades I've been in the MLM / Network Marketing profession, I've learned a few things. Mostly I learned them by making lots of mistakes, but a few I learned from other top income earners. In this article I'm going to share 5 of my favorites. These are not theoretical ideas, but rather things I've done to build several large and lucrative businesses, a couple from which I still earn very nice residual incomes. The key to these MLM / Network Marketing success tips is that you can't just read them. You have to put them into action in your business. The Bible tells us that we need to be "doers of the word", which means that it's great to read about these five powerful business building tips, but until you become a "doer" nothing will happen. So, I encourage you to study these tips and think about how you can implement them into your business today, this week, this month.

Okay, here we go:

Tip #1: Treat Your Business Like a BIG Business

Treat your MLM / Network Marketing business like you invested a million dollars to get it started, rather than as a hobby you work when you have time and you will see much quicker and bigger success. If you invested in a McDonald's franchise, you would work 15 hours a day for years to recoup your initial investment. The problem with network marketing is that it doesn't require a big investment, so people don't treat it like a big business. Yet, the potential income in network marketing is much higher than with a McDonald's franchise. So, treat your network marketing business like a big business by investing the hours every week to build your network.

Tip #2: Set up a designated business area in your house.

If you can spare a bedroom, do it. If not, at least have a desk in the corner and partition it off for your office. This will help you in two ways. First, you will be able to deduct that area of your home on your taxes. Second, it will help you know when you are working and when you are not. If you have a family, make sure they understand that when you are in your office, you're working and are not to be disturbed except for an emergency. That way you will be able to focus without constant interruptions.

Tip #3: Introduce your business to at least one new person every day.

It could be someone you know (from your warm market list) or someone you meet. If you do this 6 days a week (take Sunday off) and 50 weeks (take 2 off for vacation), you will prospect 300 new people each year. With just a 10% closing ratio, you would add 30 new people to your team each year. Now, imagine if they all did the same. It's as easy as saying, "Say, would you be interested in making some extra money, if it didn't jeopardize what you are doing now?" OR "You seem like a sharp person, do you keep your eyes open for ways to make extra income outside of what you do now for a living?" The key is to find a question that works for you and ask someone new every day.

Tip #4: Do What Business Owners Do

When you join an MLM / Network Marketing company, you are in business, so do what every other business owner does - create a business entity (sole proprietorship, partnership, LLC, corporation) and get licensed in your state. Get an EIN (Employer Identification Number) from the IRS and then set up a separate bank account. All your MLM income and costs should flow through that account. This will keep you legit with the IRS and will give you the right business mindset to achieve success.

Tip #5: Find a coach.

Every athletic team has a coach and every top network marketer had/has a coach. The best coach is an upline leader who has already achieved success in your company. Ask them to devote time each week to coaching you. The key is to do what they say. They've been there, done that, got the t-shirts, so all you have to do is listen and follow. 3 Powerful MLM / Network Marketing Secrets

There are so many so called MLM  or Network Marketing "gurus" or "experts" out there who have a made a lot of money selling programs and systems to home business owners, but have actually never built a large sustainable network and full-time income in MLM / Network Marketing. They supposedly have all the "secrets" for success, but they've never done it. Frankly it makes me sick to see so many people in this amazing profession getting duped by these fakes.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox. I wanted to say all that so that from this point on you would invest the time to research the "experts" you encounter and see if they've actually done it and are worth listening to. In fact, I encourage you to do that with me. Go to Google and search for Rod Nichols. By the way, I'm not the baseball player or the cowboy poet. But anything you see connected to MLM or network marketing will likely be me. Also, go to Amazon and search for me and you'll find some of my books.

I'm the real deal. Just an ordinary, introverted guy who failed in MLM / Network Marketing for about 10 years, enjoyed nice part-time income for another 5 years, and have earned a full-time income for the last 15 years. I'm still building businesses and earning income in the trenches of this great profession. So, when I share some secrets, they are real.

All that said, the truth is there aren't really any "secrets" in MLM / Network marketing. If you are still looking for them, stop, you are just wasting your time. Don't go on to any other listings on Goggle, because you will just find all the same stuff re-hashed.

From my over 30 years of MLM / Network Marketing experience here are the 7 things you need to do in order to earn a full-time income:

1. Join the Right Company. Not my company (although it's a good one) or the company that your best friend is in. Not the company some hotshot guru is promoting. No, you need to join the one that is right for you. You see, I joined all those other companies during my first 10 years and none of them worked. Then I started recognizing some company features that fit me and some that didn't. You need to do the same. Do they offer a product or service you can get passionate about? Does the company have the same values you do? Does the marketing approach that the company offers fit your personality and lifestyle? Will the compensation plan enable you to quickly cover your required monthly purchase? Will it enable you to develop a full-time income within a couple years or less? If you wanted, could you build a high six or seven figure income? Do they offer the tools and systems you need? Don't get caught in the hype. Look behind the curtain. Thoroughly investigate before you join and you will find the right company for YOU!

2. Find the Right Upline Team. Once you have found the right company, now it's time to research upline teams to find the one that is going to be best for you. Again, make sure you are working with people who have the same values as you. People you will feel comfortable working with and presenting to your friends and family on 3-way or conference calls. Check to see what kind of training and on-going support they offer. Get a commitment from one of the upline leaders to mentor you weekly for at least the first 6 months, while you are learning the business. Once you have chosen a team, listen to your mentor and be coachable. Attend the upline calls, webinars, and meetings. Stay connected.

3. Build Your Business Daily for the Next 5 Years. If you have chosen a good company and upline, then there is no reason for you to not make a 5 year commitment. Work with your mentor to set 5 year goals and develop a plan to reach those goals. Break your plan down to monthly, weekly, and daily goals. Then create an action plan that will enable you to accomplish your goals. That way you will know exactly what you are doing every single day. Ask your mentor to hold you accountable to those goals and actions. Don't take days off. Don't make excuses. Talk to new people very day. Follow-up on those you have already contacted. Enroll new members of your downline. Help them become successful. The more people you help become successful, the more successful you will be.

There you go. Those are the 3 powerful secrets for MLM / Network Marketing success. If you will do those 3 things and commit to a 5 year plan, you will develop a full-time income and enjoy the life that most people just dream about.

Breaking News: Numis and WorldVentures to Merge

Big News in the Network Marketing Profession: Numis Network is merging with WorldVentures
This is an interesting merge, as Numis is well known as the silver coin company and World Ventures is known as a travel company. So how do coins and travel work together. Frankly, I'm not sure. The one thing I can tell you is that the leads I know of in Numis will definitely fit well with the free spirited founders of World Ventures, Wayne Nugent and Mike Azcue.
From initial information, it appears that the Numis network will be absorbed by the WorldVentures network. Normal start-up fees to join WorldVentures will be waved for all active Numis members.
Both companies have solid track records of success and have carved out a good niche in their respective markets. It will be fun to see how this all pans out.

One of the BIGGEST Mistakes

One of the biggest mistakes I see network marketers making is to contact top income earners, like myself, and ask them to join their network. I have to say that, as a top income earner, it's also one of my biggest frustrations with the profession.

Let's get this picture clearly in mind. Typically these are people who have achieved very little success in network marketing. They are contacting someone who has built networks into the many thousands, is a highly recognized leader in their company, drives a luxury car paid for by the company, and is living a life of total freedom and asking them to come join them, in essence to start all over with someone who doesn't really know what they.re doing. That's what I call insanity. That said, I always commend those who approach me, but even if I was going to change companies, I would seek out a top income earner to align with.

So, here's my recommendation to all the newbies and those who have not achieved success in network marketing. Instead of contacting top leaders to try to get them into your company, why don't you just go and join their company and learn from that leader, so you too can become a top leader and attract others?

That's what I did. Back in 1994, after many years of failure in this profession, I invested 6 months into researching network marketing companies and uplines. I chose a company and an upline that fit me. The upline was a rising superstar who became the top income earner in the company. I got to ride along and learn. The result was that I became a top income earner with that company and my current company. Now I get to be the one others ride along with and learn from, so that they can become top income earners.

Leads, Leads, Leads

In a recent query of my MLM Tip of the Day list (www.DailyMLMTips.com) I found that one of the biggest challenges network marketers are facing is finding people to sponsor into their business. Not a big shock, as during my 34 years in MLM, this has always been one of the biggest challenges. Now, unlike all the gurus out there, I don't claim to have all the answers or some magical system that produces an unending supply of leads. However, I can give you some time-proven, field-tested ideas that have worked for me and other top income earners. Here we go:

1. The best leads are always people you know, so start there. If you were opening a restaurant or a retail store, you would certainly tell all your family members and friends, wouldn't you? So, why wouldn't you want to tell them about your network marketing business? Particularly when it could completely transform their lives. You are really doing them a disservice by not giving them the opportunity to look and make their own, educated decision, about your business. AND, don't worry about what they are going to say or think, because what you are worrying about very, very rarely ever happens. You are just the messenger, so deliver the message and if they aren't interested, that's okay, move on.

2. The next best leads are people your friends and family know, so make sure you are always asking for referrals. Learn to ask, "who do you know that is highly motivated and would like to make very serious money in the coming years?" If they don't come up with anyone, you can push it a little, "Really, you don't know anyone who would like to make some big time money and save thousands on their annual taxes each year?" "How about some of your friends? Relatives? Business associates? People you go to church with?" If you push a little (not too much or they will get irritated), they will generally come up with someone. Then just ask them to introduce you by phone, text, or email, so you can contact them. If you keep asking the "who do you know" question, you will have a never ending supply of leads. AND that's the truth!

3. The third best leads are people you meet in your local community, so make sure you are always alert to good prospects. You are looking for people who are good workers, have a positive attitude, and relate with other people well. You can find them at restaurants, drive-through windows, banks, grocery stores, department stores, the post office or other shippers, copy centers, office products stores, cellular stores, computer stores, and anywhere else you go. All you have to do is compliment and ask: "You are an excellent worker, would you be open to earning money outside of what you are doing here, if it didn't jeopardize your job?" If "yes" get their name, email, and phone and promise to email info and call to answer questions.

I also encourage you to become a networker. Go to www.MeetUp.com and find meet-up groups in your local area that would be attended by the kind of people you would like to have in your business. If there aren't any, start one. Also, check the internet for lead exchange and networking groups in your local area. The Chamber of Commerce mixers are a great place to meet motivated business people who might want to diversify their income. Finally, look for local seminars, classes, conferences, and trade-shows where you could meet motivated business or salespeople.

4. The fourth best is to generate leads through social media. By posting on Facebook, Linked-In, Twitter, Instagram, and others, you can find people who are interested in starting a home business. The best way to do this is to post beneficial information that relates to a home business - articles about how many people are starting home businesses or about people who have had success in a home business. Also articles about the economy and the need for extra or retirement income. The more value you create, the more people will trust and respect you. When you see people like your posts, private message them to see if they might be interested in a solution (your home business).

5. The fifth best type of lead are those you purchase. You can purchase very highly qualified leads for $3 to $5 each, which might seem like a lot of money per lead, but if they become a solid customer or member of your team, they will be worth a lot more than that and could bring in others with them. I've successfully used this type of lead, but actually I prefer a less expensive lead that I can send into my automated qualification system, which will then produce more highly qualified leads which I can call. There are many lead vendors out there. My preference is MLMLeads.com, as they have great leads and excellent free training.

These are just my favorite 5 ways to generate leads and the methods I have used to build several large networks and a very nice full-time income since 1998. 6. Contact management system that will keep track of all your contacts and track their progress through your system.

7. Professionally designed banners that you can use on web sites.

8. Audio hot line message - short message that your prospects can listen to on their cell phone.

A Remarkable Business

Del was sixty-two and three years from retirement when he walked into my sales and marketing class. He had done what everyone told him and socked away a nice nest egg in his company 401k plan. Del and his wife would be able to live quite nicely for the rest of their lives. Well, at least that was the plan. Then his company went bankrupt and he lost everything. That day, Del asked me how to re-build his mid-six figure retirement plan within the next three years. I told him that there was only one way – network marketing.

Patti was a single mother of six children living in a rural town with a population of only 8,000 and had just lost $75,000 in her traditional business. She had researched all kinds of traditional businesses and franchises, but there seemed to be only one type of business that would enable her to stay home with her children, quickly pay off the debt, and earn a nice six-figure income within the next five years – network marketing.

Collette was a single mother of five children, of which two were seriously ill and required regular medical attention.  She was deeply in debt and could only work part-time as a secretary.  The medical bills were piling up and the future looked very bleak.  That was when she was introduced to a fantastic home business by her brother.  At first Collette didn’t think she could be successful, because she had never operated a business before and had no sales or marketing experience, but this business was different. It seemed to be her answer from God – network marketing.

What’s remarkable about network marketing?

I mean really, name me another type of business where a twenty-three year old carpet installer with an injured shoulder and no money, or a seventy year old butcher, could become millionaires within a few years. Network marketing is the only answer.

Oh, here I am ranting and raving about how amazing network marketing is and you’re probably wondering about Del, Patti, and Collette.

Well, Del did rebuild that retirement plan in three years, but he was having so much fun, he didn’t want to retire. Patti has stayed home with her children, paid off the debt, earns a nice six-figure income, and now has several of her children who have joined her in business. Collette continued to work part-time, building a network marketing business and is now the top income earner in her company.

Network marketing is the most remarkable business I’ve ever seen and since I’ve been a business consultant for many years and have thoroughly researched thousands of businesses, that’s quite a statement. It’s the only business I’ve ever seen that enables the average person, regardless of age, gender, financial situation, past experience, education, knowledge, or even language, to start a business with little to no money and in a few short years are living the lifestyle of the rich and famous.

Can anyone be successful in network marketing?

Since my entry into the industry in 1979, I’ve had the good fortune to interview hundreds of the top income earners and I can honestly say that “YES” anyone can be successful in network marketing. Now, don’t stone me. I didn’t say that everyone would be successful; I just said that everyone could be successful, because I’ve seen people from all walks of life achieve high levels of success in network marketing.

I don’t believe that anything in this world is perfect, but network marketing is as close to the perfect business as I think you will ever find. If you’re looking for a business, you will find nothing better than network marketing – low start-up investment, proven turn-key system, high quality products and services, outstanding training and support, quick compensation, movable, unlimited growth, no employees, very little overhead, can be operated from home either part- or full-time, and produces long-term residual income, just to name a few reasons why you should seriously investigate this truly remarkable business.

If you are currently in network marketing or were sometime in the past and have never been successful, perhaps you picked the wrong company, product/service, compensation plan, timing, or upline. Many people get into the first network marketing company that comes along, without doing any research or due diligence. Uncle Joe, who doesn’t have any money and has never owned a business, shows you a network marketing company and it must be good, right? I don’t think so. Not every company is right for every person. You’ve got to find the right one for you. 

However, once you find the right company, then there is just one secret to success – WORK! I know, you were hoping for that get rich quick deal – well get over it – they don’t exist. Network marketing is a real business and it requires work – prospecting for people interested in your products/services or business, presentations, answering questions and handling objections, follow-up, sponsoring, training, and supporting. If you do these things and treat it like a real business, in time, you will be successful.

Who knows, perhaps some day you will be like Del, Patti, Collette, and so many others who are enjoying true financial security and the time freedom to really enjoy life. Yes, network marketing is the most remarkable business. My question for you is: “Will you do your research to find the right company, and then work hard and smart, so that some day other people will share your remarkable success story?

Magnetize Yourself to Attract Leads


I've been in the network marketing/mlm profession since 1979 and lead generation is easily the number one struggle. Once a person works through their warm market, which typically doesn't take very long, they are faced with the need for leads. I've done just about everything possible to generate leads for my businesses - advertising, flyers, opportunity cards, direct mail, telemarketing, voice mail marketing, internet marketing, funded business proposals, and purchased leads, just to name a few. All of them have produced productive leads, but none of them have worked consistently enough to say, "this is the one true lead generation system." However, what I did discover in the last three decades, is that if you magnetize yourself, you will attract quality leads.

So, how do you magnetize yourself? Well, there are many pieces to being more attractive and I'm going to talk about the most important, attitude. I'm sure you've been with someone who had a bad attitude, right? They weren't very attractive. In fact, they probably repelled people. So, the first and most obvious is a positive attitude. Stop griping and complaining about everything. When things go badly, and they will, find the silver lining. Look at the glass half full, rather than half empty. Days are partly sunny, rather than partly cloudy. A positive attitude will attract others with positive attitudes and that's good for your network.

The second attitude you will need to be magnetic is an attitude of gratitude. No matter how bad your circumstances, there are always things to be grateful for. If you are reading this, you have eyes to see or perhaps your listening and you have ears to hear. Be grateful; some people don't. There is a man named Nick Vujicic (you can find many of his videos on YouTube) who was born with no arms or legs and yet he is more grateful than 99% of the people I've met.  Because of his positive and grateful attitude, Nick is massively magnetic and his life is filled with many good things.

Third is an attitude of generosity. Most people only think of themselves, but those who give of themselves, their talents, and money are attractive to others. People love to be around givers. In fact the wealthiest people I know are also the biggest givers. I know what you are thinking, "if I had a lot of money, I'd be a big giver too!" Would you? With the little you have now, are you a big giver? Money will just make you more of what you are. So, adopt an attitude of generosity and start now by giving what you have. Anonymously pay for someone's meal. Leave some cash in an envelope in the door of someone you know who is in need or drop off some groceries on their porch and ring the bell (then run and hide). You will find that it is truly more blessed to give than receive and you will attract many people to your network, if you give.

Positive, grateful, and generous people are magnetic. They attract wealth, good health, good friends, amazing relationships, and spectacular opportunities. They attract amazing people into their network and rise to the top of their company, becoming top income earners. So, check your attitude. This is the first step to becoming more magnetic and living the magnetic life.

Join the 3%

Clay Balls



A man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the caves he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look like much, but they intrigued the man so he took the bag out of the cave with him.

As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could. He thought little about it until he dropped one of the balls and it cracked open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone.

Excited the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar treasure.

He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left. Then it struck him. He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of thousands, but he just threw it away.

It's like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn't look like much from the outside. It isn't always beautiful or sparkling so we discount it. We see that person as less important than someone more beautiful or stylish or well known or wealthy. But we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside that person by God.

There is a treasure in each and every one of us. If we take the time to get to know that person, and if we ask God to show us that person the way He sees them, then the clay begins to peel away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth.

May we not come to the end of our lives and find out that we have thrown away a fortune in friendships because the gems were hidden in bits of clay.

The Only Sure Thing

In your network marketing business, the only sure thing is "change" and you must be ready for and okay with it. I see so many people get derailed by changes their company makes. A little change in the product or compensation plan and all of a sudden they are off their game. Be okay with the changes. They are part of life. Learn to roll with the punches and you won't get knocked out of the game!

How to Keep Your Downline

As a veteran network marketer, top income earner, author, coach, and speaker, the most common question I hear and the biggest challenge faced by most network marketers is how to keep your downline. During my first 15 years in this great profession, this was a major challenge for me and my answer was always to sponsor more people. In one company I personally sponsored over 150 people and never earned a full-time income. It wasn't until I learned how to keep those I enrolled that I started making a big time income.

Here are the three things I do (and the other top income earners do) to keep my downline:

1. Help them earn money quickly - My first goal with a new member is to help them earn enough to cover their monthly product purchase. Next is to help them earn $500 above their product cost. At this point, they can't afford to leave. Finally, I want to help them earn enough to quit their job and enjoy true freedom. So, your first step is to work with an upline leader to figure out what a new person would have to do to earn their monthly product for free, make an extra $500 per month, and develop incomes of $50,000, $100,000, and $200,000.

2. Get them hooked on your products/services - This way at the very least, they will be a product/service user for life. First, is to make sure they have a personal experience. Second, provide them with information that shows why your product/service is unique, proprietary, patented, exclusive, and better than all the competitors. Third, help them introduce your products/services to their friends and family, so they can build an array of testimonials from people they know.

3. Recognize them - Most people go through life feeling underappreciated. You, as their sponsor and upline leader, have a chance to change that. Recognize them for the smallest of things - attending a meeting/conference call/webinar, making their list, setting up their company web site, going through the company training program, contacting their first person, setting up their first 3-way call, enrolling their first customer/member/distributor, achieving their first rank advancement, and so on. People will often do more for recognition, than they will for money, so recognize them often.

If you do these three things consistantly, you will retain a much higher percentage of your team. Don't get discouraged when some still quit. Remember that this business is only for those who are willing to do the work to succeed. If they aren't willing to do the work, there is nothing you can do for them. Wish them well, let them go, and focus on those who are putting out the effort. The result will be a solid and loyal team.

The 5 Habits of a Successful Network Marketer

During my over three decades in network marketing, I've had the opportunity study under some of the top income earners and trainers such as Mark Yarnell, Marc Barrett, Mike Dillard and others. I was also blessed to interview many top income earners and by using all that great training and information, became a top income earner myself. Over time, I recognized that one of the differences between those who succeed in MLM and those who don't, is the quality of their habits. Here are seven of the habits I have found that all top income earners have developed.

1. Personal Development - top income earners invest time and money developing themselves. As a network marketer, you can only enroll people equal to yourself or less. For example, if we were to rate people from 1 to 10, with 1 being the new network marketer and 10 being a top income earner, if you are a 5, you can only recruit people who are 5 and below. Through personal development, you can raise that number and recruit up. So, read at least 20 minutes each day in a personal development book. Listen to personal development CD's or Mp3's instead of music or talk radio. Stop reading the newspaper, watching or listening to the news. Transform your mind with positive information and you will start moving up the ranks.

2. Attitude - top income earners see their business as a BIG business before it is one. If you bought a McDonald's franchise for $1 million, you would spend 10 to 15 hours a day at your restaurant, 6 or 7 days a week. Top network marketers treat their business the same way - they invest money and time every single day, rather than doing what unsuccessful people do, which is to treat it like a hobby. Even if you have a job and a family, you can certainly find at least 10 hours a week to invest into your business. Then you need to work high priority activities like prospecting, presenting, recruiting, training, and supporting during those few hours. Another attitude of the top income earner is that their glass is overflowing (not half full or half empty). They have a positive attitude all the time. In fact, you can't really tell whether a top network marketer is having a good day or a bad day, because they always appear to be positive. Finally, they have an attitude of gratitude. Even before they are making the big money, top network marketers are grateful for everything they have and experience (even the bad times). In fact, it's this positive, committed attitude that attracts many people to them and causes their business to grow.

3. Choose the Right Company - top income earners don't just join with a friend or family member who doesn't know anything about network marketing. No, they take their time and research companies, management teams, products, compensation plans, marketing tools and systems, and upline teams, before making a decision.

Why do they commit time, money, and energy in this way? Because, they know that picking the right company and upline team is half the battle. Also, once they've done their due diligence and picked a good company, they can put the blinders on and charge full speed ahead, without ever questioning if they have the right vehicle. If you aren't already a top income earner, this is what you should be looking for:

A company that has been around for at least 2 years; has a management team with successful experience building large traditional businesses and large networks, as an MLM distributor; products that are unique, patented, exclusive, proprietary, in high demand, and highly consumable - products that get people emotionally connected and that you can get passionate about; a compensation plan that pays weekly, has solid money up front, so that distributors can easily cover their initial and monthly investment, but also has a big back end, so that they big hitters can earn the high six and seven figure incomes they are used to. A car program is also very attractive, as are reward trips; professional looking marketing tools and web sites that are offered to the distributors at cost; and an upline that is highly successful, but is committed to working directly with you and is a good match both in personality and values.

Choosing the right company enables you to make a long-term commitment and dramatically increases your odds of success.

4. Prospect New People Daily - to a top person, network marketing is not something you work into your life, it is your life. Top income earners are always prospecting. If they go to dinner with the family, they are studying the waiters and waitresses to see if there is a good candidate. At the grocery store, they are striking up conversations with people in line or the checker. When depositing their huge check (actually most of us have our big checks deposited directly into our accounts) or withdrawing a bunch of money at the bank, they are looking for good prospects. When watching their son or daughter play soccer, they engage in conversations with other parents to determine if they are a good prospecting. Top income earners, never stop prospecting. They realize that new distributors are the life blood of any business. So, if you want to be a top network marketing income earner, prospect new people every day. If you introduce your business to a new person each day for 6 days a week, 50 weeks out of the year, you will have 300 new prospects. If you just closed 10% of those you would add 30 new personally enrolled distributors to your team each year. Now, imagine if each of them did the same thing. The numbers are staggering. So, lead by example, prospect daily.

5. Attend All the Events - top network marketers understand the importance of local, regional, and national meetings, conference calls, webinars and teleconferences. It's how they stay connected to the company and their team, so they never miss an event. If you want to rise to the top of your company, attend all the local meetings and watch what your upline leaders are doing. Go to the bigger regional events and seek out the top income earners to find out their secrets to success. The national convention is the goldmine of leaders, so use your time wisely to gather nuggets of wisdom from the best in your company.

These are just five of the habits that are common among the top network marketers in every company. If you want to join those ranks, develop these five new habits and watch what happens.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about the future of network marketing. I'm noticing a disturbing trend - we are going backwards. When I joined the MLM professiona in 1979, we built our businesses through home meetings, which we invited all of our friends and family to. In the mid-nineties, things changed and we began building on the internet, which fit the changes in our culture. Today, we see everyone jumping on the Social Media bandwagon by joining Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, Pinterest, and others. Yet, I see the network marketing industry going back to home meetings and parties.

I'm wondering why a profession that has always been known for it's innovative approaches is ignoring the writing on the wall and is endanger of following the path of the dinosaurs.

As I was doing some research, I found a great article by Jeff Stroud, a direct selling industry consultant, entrepreneur, former CEO, DSA Board Member and Chairman of the DSA Strategic Planning Committee. You Wouldn't Be Interested, Would You?

There was once a desperate insurance sales manager who was trying to figure out how to get his agents to sell more.  Finally he called them all into a meeting and told them to go out and say to people, "you wouldn't be interested in insurance would you?"  Since this was so easy, the agents spoke to many more people and the sales skyrocketed.

If your network marketing volumes aren't where you want them, you could do the same thing.  Why not go out and say to people, "you wouldn't be interested in making some extra money would you?"  Imagine if you said this to everyone you met, what would happen to your recruiting numbers.  What would happen if you taught this simple technique to your entire downline?

What Will It Take to Be Free?

In the network marketing profession we talk so much about the really big income earners - those making $1,000,000 or more annually. Yet, that's probably under 1% of the total network marketers. What we should be talking about is financial freedom.

I used to think that financial freedom resulted from becoming a millionaire. What I realized is that financial freedom really means making enough money to cover all your financial needs, giving you the freedom to live life without the constraints of a job. I was able to accomplish that in 1998 and haven't worked a job since. In fact, the other day, I was talking with a friend and mentioned that my wife and I live like retired people and have for the last 15 years. Most days, we get up without an alarm and can decide what we want to do that day. Although we have a network marketing business, we don't have to work it every day. You see, financial freedom is about the choices that you don't have when you work a job.

So, financial freedom will look different to everyone. Your first step is to determine how much you would need to make each month, so that you could quit your job without any hardship. The second step is to then work with an upline leader, who already has financial freedom, on a plan to develop a residual income that is higher than the amount you determined in step one. The final step is to work your plan every day until you reach your goal of financial freedom.

It might take you a year or two or it might take you five or ten years, but think about it, what else could you be doing that would result in financial freedom within the next ten years? The reality is that if you are with a good company and have a good plan that you honestly work every day, you will likely accomplish financial freedom within five years. Most people could do just about anything for five years, if they knew that freedom was on the other end.

You are just 3 steps away from a life of totally freedom. Isn't it time to get started?

MLM: Free the Slaves

My wife and I went to see Lincoln and I was in awe of the movie, the acting, and most of all the story. Obviously the Lincoln story is not new. We all likely studied it during history class in school, but what stood out from the movie was Lincoln's vision, consistency, and persistence, particulary in his goal to abolish slavery. Even under great persecution, which eventually ended his life, he pursued his vision and saw the anti-slavery law passed.

Unfortunately, there are still many people who are slaves to a J.O.B. (Just Over Broke). The good news is that we, network marketers, have the opportunity to carry Lincoln's torch and free the slaves. I was once a slave, toiling long hard hours every day, making other people rich, while my family struggled. Today, because of network marketing, I can do what ever I want, whenever I want and have plenty of money. Today, because of network marketing, I can free other slaves and help them move into a life of freedom and so can you!

Thank God for Abraham Lincoln and for network marketing. FREE THE SLAVES!!!

A great way to build your network marketing / MLM business is to become an expert.
